When we were kids, the police were the safe place. "If you ever feel
threatened," they said, "find a police officer, they'll help you."
Recently, we've seen headlines that highlight some of the "bad apples"
of policing. Every batch has one or two and lately, they have been
getting all of the attention. This is not a fair representation of the
men and women who keep peace and order, often at the expense of family
relationships or worse. The time has come to remember the good cops who
don't get enough recognition for the job they're doing.
